Philly emcee Marv Mack is soon to become a household name for alternative hip-hop fans across the United States. The rapper quickly rose to underground prestige after releasing his debut single “Paula Deen” (ft. in VICE, Music Times, Philly.com, EATER) last year, which addressed the racial tension and civil unrest that erupted nationally.
Starting off this new year, Mack dropped his highly anticipated debut album Golden Band-Aids on January 8th. The album received recognition from Cult Classic USA, RESPECT Mag + many more. Golden Band-Aids, produced by Gibbs Tell ‘Em, is the perfect example of what happens when an artist chooses to stay true to their artistic integrity, rather than riding the wave of what’s popular. At its best, the album is a pure form of artistic expression, and in no way has that gone unnoticed by neither fans, nor critics. True lovers of art, music, and creativity have their eyes and ears towards Mack.
Adding to the momentum, Marv Mack has blessed us with a colorfully animated visual (shot & edited by Mack himself) for his 2nd single “Own Crib”, which brings viewers straight into a 90s-inspired cartoon world as he takes us with him to meet up with a woman who has recently just got her own crib.
The video has been released through Russell Simmons‘ All Def Digital channel.
